"I am pleased to present the FY 2016-17 Annual Report covering the final year of our 2013-17
Strategic Plan. First 5 Alameda County Commissioners, staff, and the Alameda County early
childhood community have worked collaboratively and passionately to provide high quality
services to young children and their families. We’re proud of the work we’ve all done to move
the policy agenda forward for long-term sustainability and in support of our role as catalyst,
collaborator, capacity builder, and policy advocate. This report focuses on highlights in each
of the nine strategy areas, providing a glimpse into the broader work of our organization. For
