In December, we published our 2025 Policy Agenda to Advance Equity, which launched as part of the agency’s Annual Report

The First 5 Alameda County Policy Agenda is a tool used by the Government Affairs and Policy Team to guide our engagement in local, state, and federal policy and budget developments to address the underlying structural issues facing communities, families, and children.

Our policy agenda is updated every two years in alignment with the start of California’s two-year legislative session.

This year’s update was developed with input from individual teams and divisions and the Internal Policy Committee. This process helps ensure that the priorities of each program team are heard and considered.

The policy agenda is also informed by the collaborative work of our external partners, including Neighborhoods Ready for School grantees and Parent Voices Oakland, who provide input.

“We thank our Program Teams, Internal Policy Committee, and our key external partners, including Neighborhoods Ready for School, the Alameda County Early Childhood Policy Committee, and Alameda County Policy partners who informed the 2025 policy agenda,” said Government Affairs and Policy Officer Ana Apodaca.
