Training at First 5

Training at First 5 offers a variety of community based training and peer networking and support opportunities. Providers from all disciplines who serve children ages 0-5 and their families in Alameda County are welcome to attend training and networking opportunities at First 5. Continuing Education Units are provided free of charge to registered nurses, licensed clinical social workers and marriage and family therapists at all qualified trainings.

First 5 Seeks CEO as Janis Burger prepares for retirement in January 2018, learn more about the California Leaders for Children two year initiative focused on making children a policy priority by targeting the next Governor of California as well as how Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services is gathering input on community needs in mental health services.

Alameda County Fathers Corps

New Report: Voices of Fathers and the Providers Who Serve Them

  • The 12-page report details the Needs of Alameda County Fathers and the Barriers to Father Involvement using insights from more than 100 Alameda County Service Providers and Focus Groups including 31 Fathers who were uninvolved in their children’s lives.   
  • The report also includes Strategies for Successful Fatherhood Engagement and Recommendations for Alameda County.
