Will They Grow Out of It?

One of the challenges of parenting is knowing when it is time to get help for a child's development, behavior and learning.  When a child seems behind or something just doesn't seem quite right, it can be difficult to know what to do.

That's why Help Me Grow has launched a social marketing campaign called "Will They Grow Out of It?" The campaign encourages families who have questions or concerns about their child's development to listen to their instincts and act. Families are provided concrete resources - the Help Me Grow phone line and new website,Alamedakids.org. By calling or going online, families can get support, information, and resources to promote their child's development.

Early Intervention Works

This bilingual (English and Spanish) campaign is the first of its kind to promote early identification of childhood (birth to 5 years) developmental concerns in Alameda County.  We know too often children don't get the support they need for their development, social and emotional health, and learning. The good news is - help is available.  Children who receive early intervention have higher school achievement, improved social skills and greater well-being into adulthood.

Help Us Make this Campaign a Success!

Campaign advertisements will run from January to March in the area surrounding the 880 Freeway from Oakland to Hayward at BART stations, bus shelters and sides, small grocery and convenience stores, Laundromats and on check cashing envelopes.

We are really excited about the ads, but there is much more to be done!  We hope partners can help make sure our campaign is seen by families by hanging posters, handing out postcards, and letting families know about the new website. We can provide sample newsletter articles, website buttons and Facebook and Twitter posts too! To get involved, contact Julia Ackley.
