Volunteer to Help Kids Grow!

Help Me Grow is an innovative system that has helped more than 5,000 Alameda County families get connected to child development services and supports.  We are currently looking for volunteers for administrative and programmatic support.  Volunteers will primarily support the Developmental Screening Program, our newest screening effort to improve early identification of developmental delays and disabilities.

Volunteers will not only will make a difference in a family's life, but also have the opportunity to develop new skills, learn more about child growth and development, earn college credit, expand your professional networks, and more.

Promote Healthy Development

Based on a national model, Help Me Grow Alameda County is a countywide system to promote the development, learning, and social-emotional health of children ages birth to 5. We partner with families and providers to meet children's developmental needs so they can get the best start in life.

Get Involved

Volunteers will prepare, send, and score the Ages and Stages Questionnaires - a pair of  standardized developmental screening tools. Experience with the questionnaires is not necessary.  Volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate in community events such as health fairs and networking cafes.

Please help spread the word to high school students, college students, recent retirees, parents, grandparents, and community members who might be interested in joining the Help Me Grow team!
