Much of the work of First 5 is accomplished through the collective work of our funded partners. A significant portion of what we spend is paid out in the form of grants and contracts for direct services.

Alameda County Public Health Dept. - ABCD in CHDP sites

Contractor have been retained to work with the Medical Home Project who will connect with pediatric practices on implementing standardized developmental screening and referral pathways for children with specialized health and developmenal needs. In addition, Contractor will support First 5 programs that need additional trainings on referral pathways for children with special health and developmental needs.

Home Visiting Program for Preganant and Parenting families in Alameda County referred by the Hospital Outreach Workers.

Offer parent-child playgroups in English and Spanish, provide Library-in-a-Bag literacy kits to preschool classrooms, and facilitate parent-child playgroups for families of children with special needs.

United Way- Earn it, Keep it, Save it

Funding to provide families with children age 0-5 at 17 Earn It Keep It Save It sites in Alameda County with free tax preparation services to increase the number of eligible tax filers who receive Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and asset development information.
