A Gift for New Parents

Is your sister, brother, cousin, friend, neighbor, work mate (or you!) expecting a new arrival? Then First 5 Alameda County has a free Kit for New Parents to get them started. It could also make a great holiday gift - if the timing is right. The Kits are most helpful for parents before the new baby arrives, so plan accordingly.

Fun, Practical, Free

First 5's Kit for New Parents is an extraordinarily popular item. In the last year alone we've distributed more than 7,000 free Kits to new parents. What's in the handy little packet? A DVD with tips about raising a healthy baby. The very readable book, "What to Do When Your Child Gets Sick." A fun, handy chart to mark your child's developmental stages. Your baby's first interactive picture book, "Puppy and Friends." The Alameda County Resource Guide. How to protect your baby from toxic substances. And more information to help prepare children to reach their greatest potential in school and life.

Available in Lots of Languages

If you are a provider or represent an agency and would like to distribute the free Kits, please complete and submit the  Order Form for Kits for New Parents. Parents can order directly from the First 5 California website.

Go ahead. The first 5 years are the most important in any child's life - and the kits are free! For more information, contact Charla Black-Edwards, First 5 Alameda County, at 510.227-6917 or charla.black-edwards@first5alameda.org
