Cultural Access Services (CAS)
First 5's Cultural Access Services enables all families in Alameda County, regardless of their cultural or linguistic background, to receive quality services. We provide outreach, interpretation, translation services, training and technical assistance to help families and providers from various language and cultural backgrounds to access First 5 services.
Interpretation Services
First 5 Alameda County provides interpretation support for our contractors that provide home visiting services. If you are a contractor with First 5 Alameda County and need an interpreter, contact Virve Hernandez at 510.227.6944.
Interpretation Equipment
First 5 Alameda County makes interpretation equipment available to the community at no cost, to ensure that the valuable services community agencies provide can be accessed by those who face language barriers.
Due to the demand for equipment, our first priority is to our contractors and partners. First 5 Alameda County has 20 headsets and 2 transmitters for use. Please complete the Equipment Check-Out Form and fax it to VIrve Hernandez at 510.227.6901 or send via email at Virve.Hernandez@first5alameda.org. We recommend that you call Virve before completing the form to make sure that the equipment is available on the date(s) that you need them.
